Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson began vaccinating its caregivers with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, when 70 employees were slated to receive a vaccination.

Employees are notified by email or text about their scheduled time to receive the Moderna vaccine.

“I arrived at work at 6:45 a.m. and the hallway leading to the vaccination clinic was full of activity,” Chief Operating Officer Devin Huntley said in a press release. “I could feel the excitement in the air. Our team put an enormous amount of hard work into organizing this, and I’m so proud of them.”

The vaccination clinic continues for St. Joe’s caregivers, and more doses are expected soon.

“Our caregivers are excited about receiving the vaccine,” Director of Nursing Erin Rumelhart said. “Everyone who has come through has been enthusiastic about having a way to fight this virus.”
