Students stage production of 'Fortune's Fables'
Polson students are preparing for the Friday opening of the musical comedy “Fortune’s Fables.”
The trilogy including “The Tortoise & the Hare,” “The Three Pigs,” and “Country Mouse and City Mouse” features two separate casts, grades kindergarten through eighth.
One cast will perform for the public Friday, Feb. 7, and the second cast performs Saturday, Feb. 8. Both shows have 7:30 p.m. curtain times on the Polson High School stage.
According to directors Karen and Neal Lewing, who wrote and directed Fortune’s Fables, this will be the 36th time Port Polson Players, in association with Polson School District 23 and Mission Valley Friends of the Arts, have provided the opportunity for local students.
“It’s gratifying that this popular program has serviced so many students over the years,” say the Lewings. “We’ve had three generations of kids come through the ranks. It’s fun to see parents of current performers come up to us after the show to say they remember acting in one of our shows. It’s amazing how many parents still remember the songs.”
Tickets for Fortune’s Fables are $7 for adults, $6 for Senior Citizens and students. A family ticket (two adults / two kids) are $24; no reservations are needed. The box office opens at 6:45 p.m., with seating first-come first-served.
