Basketball playoffs kick off this weekend
District basketball playoffs begin Thursday for teams in the Mission Valley.
Ronan High School is hosting the 14-C District event in boys and girls basketball.
In the boys bracket, at 1 p.m. Thursday, No. 3 seed Noxon will face No. 6 Two Eagle River. The winner will face No. 2 St. Regis at 1 p.m. Friday.
In the other quarterfinal game Thursday, set for 4:30 p.m., No. 4 Hot Springs will play No. 5 Charlo. The winner will face top-seeded Plains at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The title game is set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday while the consolation is at 2:15 p.m.
In the girls bracket, action begins at 2:45 p.m. Thursday when No. 3 Plains faces No. 6 Two Eagle River. The winner will play No. 2 Hot Springs at 2:45 p.m. Friday.
At 6:15 p.m. Thursday, No. 4 Noxon faces No. 5 St. Regis. The winner will battle No. 1 Charlo at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
The title game is set for 7 p.m. Saturday while the consolation is at 4 p.m.
In boys 6B action, Arlee claimed an 86-79 win over Florence on Monday. The Warriors will play at Deer Lodge at 7 p.m. Thursday. The other semifinal has Anaconda hosting Missoula Loyola.
The title game is set for Saturday.
In 7B action, both Mission teams hosted Troy.
For the boys, a Mission win would have it playing at Bigfork at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The boys title game is set for 4 p.m. Saturday in Libby.
For the girls, a Mission win would have it playing at Thompson Falls at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The championship game is set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Libby.
