Mission Valley trio fifth at state wrestling tourney
Polson wrestler Kedrick Baker gave the Pirates a state medal winner last week at the Montana State Class A Championships at MetraPark in Billings.
Baker finished fifth at 126 pounds with a 4-2 mark.
He pinned Hardin’s Sean Mehling in 3:10.
Baker was an all-state wrestler in 2019 when he was fifth at 120 pounds.
In Class A, Sidney-Fairview was the runaway winner with 340 team points.
Polson was 15th with 43 points and Ronan was 18th with 21.
Ronan had two placewinners, led by Daniel Collins-Bishop, who placed fifth at 160 pounds. Collins-Bishop was 4-2 and capped his tournament with a injury default win over Dawson County’s Jacoby Mattern.
Ronan’s Kolby Reum was sixth at 145 pounds. He beat Hardin’s Jace Guptil, 8-3.
For the Arlee Warriors, 145-pounder Colt Crawford was their lone placewinner. He finished fifth after a 4-2 performance.
Crawford won fifth when he decisioned Malta/Whitewater’s Camryn Mears, 6-3.
The Warriors scored 14 team points and placed 29th.
