Journe Leaven Smout, 21

Journe Leaven Smout, passed away on Dec. 19, 2019. She was born on Aug. 30, 1998 in Kalispell.

Journe grew up with her father Edwin Smout, Jr. and her older sister Kastle Smout. Growing up, Journe enjoyed time with her friends, family and animals. She enjoyed a wide variety of music including Bee Gees and older music she was brought up with. Journe lost her mother, Kathleen Bergstedt “Mickie” several years ago to cancer and held on to her by embracing and listening to the oldies music and keeping close items left behind.

As Journe grew up, her love of photography developed and she began to enjoy going on drives to take scenic pictures and taking pictures of her animals. Journe was very skilled at training and taking care of all kinds of pets and animals including birds, dogs and cats.

She was a very kind hearted person who enjoyed helping other people and loved children. Journe had always wanted kids and would love to care for and nurture any children involved in her life. She was a proud auntie to her niece Pebbles whom she adored and cared for since her birth.

Journe is survived by many family members including Edwin, her dad; Sharon Richardson, her grandma; Kastle Smout, her sister; Jamie Berg, her sister; Skeeter Warren, her brother; Marizia Anderson, her sister; Miranada Rouch, her sister; Jessi Keeton, her sister; and her niece, Pebbles.

Journe will always be remembered by her compassion for others and what a wonderful person she was. Journe will also be remembered by the way she touched and changed our lives for the better.
