Ronan Maidens roll past Lady Pirates, 61-11
At the midpoint juncture of the regular schedule, the Maidens of Ronan collected a pair of convincing NWA conference wins.
At Whitefish, the Maidens poured it on in the second period to carve out a twenty point lead at the half, adding thereafter to culminate the contest by doubling up on their hosts. Ronan got balanced scoring across the board. Senior guard Kieauna DeRoche was the only player who reached double figures on either team, but a half dozen other Maidens scored multiple field goals.
At Ronan in round one of the annual Rez roundball rivalry wrangle, the host Maidens were in firm control early on. Ronan’s press and defensive pressure denied multiple Polson scoring opportunities along with disrupting visitor attempts to establish any sort of rhythm on offense. Of the dozen Maidens who contributed minutes in the contest, ten scored with Regan Clairmont and Jaylea Lunceford collaborating on more than two dozen points and ten boards.
The Maidens will host the visiting Mission Lady Bulldogs in a cross classification county clash on Friday, January 17, then travel to Frenchtown on Saturday.

Columbia Falls 61, Polson 28
At the Joe McDonald Health & Wellness Center in Pablo, host Polson replicated a season high against the undefeated WildKats, who placed a quartet in double figures. Three Lady Pirates countered with a half dozen each.
Polson travels to Whitefish on Friday, then Libby this weekend.
Against the visiting Lady Yellowjackets, the host Lady Pirates scored more points the first half than the sum tally of the preceding game as they would post a season high that had several chances of climbing into the mid-30s. A flourish during the final frame netted the highest quarter yield of the season as well.
Jazlyn Dalbey scored a varsity career high eleven, eight coming in the final quarter that included a triple along with a deuce and one three point play. Senior post Misty Tenas rejected a quintet of Jacket shot attempts. Frosh reserve guard Grace Simonich provided a spark during her quarter of eligibility by contributing a pair of deuces during the third frame.

The young Lady Eagles’ clash with the figurative claws of the host Lady Tigers on tigress turf would have predictable results.
But Two Eagle matched a single frame high during the second period as they knocked on the door of a double digit tally. The contest was the third of the season to tally among the teens or better.
The Lady Eagles embark on a basketball road marathon this week with games at Arlee, Plains and Troy.
