At Missoula, visiting Arlee rallied from a two possession halftime deficit to knot the contest at 63 apiece. The Warriors had possession of the ball during the waning seconds of regulation, but couldn’t connect with their shot, thereby forcing the extra period. Thereafter, Cody Tanner would net a deuce and 3-4 from the charity stripe. But Ram free throw conversion, capped by a late deuce by Parker Pratt, would eek out the extra frame contest in favor of the host team.

At Deer Lodge, Arlee played within a free throw during bookend frames. But the host Wardens locked down the contest by handcuffing the Warriors during the middle periods.

Arlee embarks upon a three game marathon this week. Having already faced Anaconda, they travel to Charlo for a cross county clash on Friday, then host former District 14C rival Plains Horsemen on Saturday.

Mission at home

This past weekend, the host Bulldogs had intended to capitalize upon home court advantage since their preceding encounter with the Vikings at Bigfork back in December had ended by a mere possession shortfall. But Bigfork had honed their craft over the ensuing five week interval as Mission discovered that the conference rivals had morphed into a more formidable foe.

Bigfork would need no final frame rally this time around to overcome a multiple possession deficit like in their previous clash. This time, Mission struggled to craft comparable counters to Viking forays into their real estate.

Mission travels to Eureka, then hosts Deer Lodge this weekend.
