Lady Pirates take second at Emeralds SMASH tourney

USA Softball teams in all age brackets completed another tournament weekend as Kalispell hosted the 2020 Emeralds SMASH June 26-28.
After a hard fought tournament, the 16/18U Polson Lady Pirates fell to the Spokane Mudhens 13-3 in the Championship game on Sunday. In the semifinal Polson won a close game over Frenchtown after holding the Fury Fastpitch to one run in the seventh inning, taking the victory 3-2. Josie Caye led the Lady Pirates at bat, going 14-23 for a .609 average.
In the 14U silver bracket the Polson Lady Pirates fell in the semifinal to Spokane Stealth, 9-4.
After a series of wins over the weekend the Lady Pirates 12U team fell to the Venom in the championship game, 8-0.
Polson’s 10U squad tied the Columbia Falls Lil Rebs on Friday 11-11, and then finished the tournament with three losses.
Over the holiday weekend, the Lady Pirates are set to host the annual Polson Splash Classic at the Polson Softball Complex.
