John Andrew “Andy” Beekmann, Jr, 67

| July 9, 2020 1:00 AM

John Andrew “Andy” Beekmann, Jr. passed away in Ronan, on June 26, 2020. Andy lived his life as a stranger in this world, faithfully preparing throughout his life to go to his home with God. He was 67 years old.

Andy was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on May 2, 1953, to John Andrew “Joe” Beekmann, Sr, and Donnie Jean (Birch) Beekmann. Sometime after the family then moved to Texas where they eventually settled down in the city of Garland. The home he grew up in is the same one his mother lives in today.

On June 22, 1974, Andy married the love of his life, Beverly Jo Pollock. They moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where their two children were born: Melissa Ann “Missy” in 1976 and Joseph Howard “Joe” in 1978. After a transfer took them to El Reno, Oklahoma, for a few years, Andy and Bev came to the understanding that their children needed to grow up in Truth. They settled into the Texas Panhandle for the next 28 years.

Melissa married Trent Coleman and settled in Charlo, in 1997 and Joe married Jaime Tiernan in 1998 and eventually settled in Fritch, Texas.

Andy was a good dad but being a “Papa” was his delight. Joe and Jaime provided him with four grandkids to play with: Tucker, Tyler, Trace and Laney. Then, Trent and Melissa gave him some more: Darcy, Avery and Darren. One of his last comments after his last gospel meeting was “If I knew how much fun grandkids would be, I would have had them first!”.

After retiring from his job in 2011, Andy and Bev moved to Polson. They had a lovely home with room for guests that they enjoyed. Andy got a job as a school bus driver to fill his time and absolutely loved it. He saved every note and drawing from his “kids”.

Andy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Beverly; his mother, Donnie; his daughter, Melissa; his son, Joe; his sister, Karen Valdez; and his brothers, Steve and Phillip Beekmann; as well as his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Andy is preceded in death by his father, John Andrew Beekmann, Sr.

Services will be held on July 11, 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, space is limited to family and a few friends. Messages of condolences may be shared with the family online at www.lakefuneralhomeandcremation.com. Arrangements are under the care of The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory.
