Election judges needed in Lake County

Lake County Elections Administrator Katie Harding encourages area voters to apply to be election judges for this election year.

“It’s a behind-the-scenes action that is truly the heart of an election,” says Harding. She is ready to hire several election judges.

Anyone who has ever voted at a public place will recognize the hard work, training, helpfulness, and professionalism of poll workers. The county “needs positive and dependable workers who will help Lake County uphold the integrity of our election process,” says Harding. These are paid public service positions.

Individuals who serve as Election Judges must be registered to vote in Lake County, not be related to a candidate on the ballot within their precinct, and be able to work a 15-hour day (half-day shifts may be available). Every individual must attend one training session, provided by local election officials, and commit to working both the Primary and General Elections (June 2nd and November 3rd).

Training will be held on multiple days of the week, including Saturday, to accommodate busy schedules.
