Mission hoops teams 0-2 at Western B Divisional tourney

The Mission girls basketball team was 0-2 at last week’s Western B Divisional in Hamilton.

Mission opened with a 75-38 loss to unbeaten Loyola Thursday and a 67-52 defeat to Eureka Friday.

Karolyna Buck led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points. Azia Umphrey, Madyson Currie and Courtney Mitchell each scored six points.

In Friday’s game, Umphrey scored 15 points, which put her over the 600-point total for her career.

Buck led Mission (8-15) with 17 points and Sydney Brander scored seven.

Mission Bulldogs battle in two close losses

The Bulldogs finished 0-2 in the Western B Divisional in Hamilton, but they were tough outs in both contests.

Against Loyola, the Bulldogs fell 60-51 despite Jedi Christy’s 20 points. Christy hit two 3-pointers on his way to game-high scoring honors.

Ross McPherson scored 12 points and Zoran LaFrombois added eight points.

In a narrow, 62-59, loss to Thompson Falls Friday, Christy scored 15 points and went over the 800-point mark for his career.

LaFrombois scored 14 pointsm, Isaiah Nasewytewa scored 11 and Layne Spidel scored eight.

Loyola 60, Mission 51

Layne Spidel surpassed the century mark for season scoring.
