Lady Bulldogs head to divisionals as No. 4 seed
The Mission Lady Bulldogs went 1-2 in District 7B tournament volleyball action last week.
Mission opened postseason play with a play-in victory over Troy for their sixth win of the season. Syd Brander and Kooper Page collaborated for over 20 kills, while Maysa Couture and Ella Arlint rocked the service line with 13 aces.
The win over Troy secured the No. 4 seed and advanced the Lady Bulldogs into their first-round match against top-seeded Thompson Falls. Keana Thomas and Sydney Brander collaborated on a half dozen kills, while Brander and Maysa Couture combined for a half dozen service aces in the three-set loss. Ella Arlint led the defensive efforts with eight digs.
In a consolation match with Bigfork, Syd Brander and Ahni Umphrey collaborated on 11 kills, while Maysa Couture set the table with a dozen assists along with a pair of service aces.
Head coach Rhandy Hansen said she was proud of her team and thankful for a full schedule.
“This season has been uncertain, but we are so grateful to have a full season during an uncomfortable year. The girls have made each day on the court count.”
The loss to the Valkyries left Mission as the No. 4 seed for the upcoming Western B Divisional. Following a play-in format, the Lady Bulldogs travel to face the 6B top seed Anaconda on Thursday.
