Harold Smith and Vic Starkel of Ronan recently competed at the world championship weightlifting competition at Reno, Nev. Smith placed first in the bench-press and deadlift categories for the 61-67 age group, while Starkel won the bench-press competition for the 75-79 age group.

KERR Radio is presenting the third annual Big Brothers and Sisters 24-hour dance marathon beginning Friday night at the Ronan Catholic Parish Hall. Regular reports will be broadcast live on the radio throughout the event.

Marion Scheeler of St. Ignatius and Gilbert Mangels of Polson were selected to attend the national 4-H Club Congress in Chicago. They will leave Thursday for Bozeman and will go from there to Chicago with other state delegates.
