Polson homecoming football back on with last-minute agreement
There will be homecoming football in Polson on Friday night afterall.
Polson High School officials announced Thursday afternoon that an agreement was reached that would bring Class B Bigfork to town as a replacement for Stevensville.
The Vikings (4-2) are ranked No. 6 in Class B, with one of their losses coming to Class A Fergus of Lewistown in overtime. The Pirates are 3-3 on the season.
The Stevensville School Board voted unanimously during an emergency meeting Wednesday night to suspend all extracurricular activities, including high school sports, following a positive COVID-19 test within the school system that was reported earlier in the day.
Stevensville High School’s volleyball team was scheduled to play at Polson on Thursday, and the football team was set to visit Polson on Friday night.
