Bulldogs travel to Charlo with football season on the line
The Charlo Vikings will host the third round of the Crown of the Valley series Friday against the Mission Bulldogs to close out the regular schedule for both squads. Mission was idle this past week after Troy forfeited
Vikings quarterback Coyle Nagy has passed for eight touchdowns, scored on seven keepers and is on pace for more than 1,000 all-purpose yards.
Charlo features a tandem of solid running backs in Tucker Love and Roper Edwards, who have combined for close to 400 yards rushing. Edwards leads the ground attack with seven rushing touchdowns.
Nagy's main passing targets include Love, Braydon Zempel, Edwards and Dawson Dumont.
Mission sophomore quarterback Kellen McClure has completed more than 100 passes for 1,500 yards and just over two dozen touchdown passes.
Senior Layne Spidel and Javon Bolen have combined for more than 500 rushing yards.
The Mission receiving corps features John Komotios, Canyon Sargent, Bryce Umphrey, Zoran LaFrombois and Charley Adams.
A spot in the playoffs is on the line for both teams. Mission would secure the No. 4 seed from the West with a win, while a Charlo win would propel the Vikings to the No. 3 seed.
