Resort tax a slippery slope for Polson

| September 7, 2020 8:05 PM

TAX, TAX, TAX. Here we go once again. To the residents of Polson I say "Don’t drink the Kool-Aid.” The Polson City commission is at it again proposing a resort tax to benefit the city of Polson residents. What about the Lake County residents who shop in Polson and are not Polson residents? There needs to be a clear clarification of what exactly will be taxed. Plus, if anyone is under the impression that this tax will have an end date they are deluding themselves. Once a tax is implemented it is permanent.

Polson business owners should be very concerned about this resort tax as it may well force nonresidents to shop elsewhere. It may well make Lake County residents shop the big box stores and businesses that do not have this additional tax.
