Charles Lee Hensley, 51

| April 5, 2021 1:25 PM

Charles Lee Hensley died March 29, 2021, when he lost his brutal battle with cancer. Charlie’s journey started in a hospital in Springfield, Mo., when he was born Jan. 6, 1970 to Darwin and Frances Hensley.

Charlie and his family moved around a lot, but his fondest memories growing up were a toss-up between Brewster, Wash., and Ronan. He remained friends with several of his classmates through the years. He wanted to come back and see the beautiful Montana Mission Mountains one more time and to see some of those people, but his failing health didn’t allow this plan to come to fruition.

After finishing school, he chose to go into the Army and serve his country. He served in Desert Storm before being honorably discharged in 1994.

One of his proudest chapters in his life was becoming a father to J.D. on April 1, 1993.

Charlie’s gypsy soul took him to many places over the years, but for the last handful he lived in California. While there, Charlie reverted back to his passions in life: art, music and motorcycles. Charlie was designing and creating jewelry, painting murals, playing guitar and fixing up his Harley.

Charlie is survived by his son, J.D.; brothers Keith (Joyce) Hensley, Marvin (Michaela) Hensley and Darwin Hensley; sisters Darla (Karey) Reynolds and Vicki Clarke; many nieces and nephews; and last but not least his best girl, a pit bull rescue dog, Sassy.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.
