William Bryan Ashley, 58

William Bryan Ashley, age 58, passed away April 6, 2021 in Missoula. Billy was born in Polson to William and Lois (Doney) Ashley on Feb. 14, 1963. Billy graduated from Ronan High School in 1981. He worked for several years as a skidder operator for several logging operations on the Flathead Reservation. In the early 90s, he joined with his father and they became Ashley Logging for the next 27 years. Mark Hartung, lifelong friend, also worked with Billy and his dad as a sawyer, completing the crew of three.

Billy had a love for the outdoors, which he inherited from his dad. He loved to hunt and fish or just take a ride through the woods. He was also an avid sports fan with his favorite teams being the Raiders, Lakers and, of course, the Griz. Billy was a devoted son who cared for his mother until her death in 2020 and has been currently caring for his father.

Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Archie and June Ashley and George and Elva Doney; his mother, Lois Ashley; sisters Debbie Ashley and Jerolyn LaFromboise; and his cousin, Danny Evjan.

Billy is survived by his dad, William A. Ashley; brother Dale Schiele (Pam); sisters Rhonda Hogan and Barbara Hill (Dwayne); brother-in-law Jeff LaFromboise; nieces Codi VanNess (Rodrick), Rhiannon Meyers, Angela Meyers, Brittany Flores (Jose), Tiffany Ruiz (Sammy), Michelle Moody (Andrew) and Heather Hill; nephews Bryan Schiele (Sharilyn), Iain Hogan and Sean Schaefer; aunts June Skaggs and Irma Doney; and his cousin, Richard Evjan.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 9 at Lakeview Cemetery in Polson, followed by a dinner. Messages of condolences may be shared with the family online at www.lakefuneralhomeandcremation.com. Arrangements are under the care of The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory.
