Polson swimmers hang tough at Missoula

Polson swimmer Lachlan Sloan had a pair of top 10 finishes Saturday at the nine-team Missoula High School City Meet.

Polson was the only class A team competing, along with eight class AA teams.

Sloan finished eighth in the 200 yard individual medley and was seventh among a field of 26 competitors in the boys 100 yard freestyle with a time of 58.30.

The Polson girls finished last in the team standings, while the boys scored 121 to finish ahead of ninth-place Kalispell Flathead (119).

Kalispell Glacier won the girls team standings, and Missoula Hellgate took the boys title.

Polson earned a pair of sixth-place finishes in the 500 yard freestyle. For the girls it was Hailey Hanson with a time of 7:39.20. For the boys, it was Trey Wyman with a time of 6:21.51.

Aspen McKee earned an eight-place finish in the girls 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:39.08.

The team’s next event is the Butte Invitational on Jan. 8.
