Deceased woman's body found on lake shore in Polson

An employee at KwaTaqNuk Resort & Casino on U.S. Highway 93 in Polson reported seeing a body on the shore of Flathead Lake on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

First responders determined the person was deceased upon arrival, according to a statement from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.

The deceased was later identified as Sherelle Leigh Martin, 34, of Jamul, Calif.

Martin’s body was transported to the Forensic Science Division for autopsy. Sheriff Don Bell said initial findings indicate Martin died from hypothermia.
