Man dies after being hit by train near Ravalli

A man died Sunday afternoon after being struck by a train near Ravalli, according to a press release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

David John Matt Hammer, 46, was pronounced deceased on scene after being struck around 2:40 p.m.

Hammer’s body was sent to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula for an autopsy.
