The Lake County Community Development Corporation recently made some changes and is doing business as Mission West Community Development Partners. Founded in Ronan in 1995, the nonprofit organization has provided economic and community development services in the Mission Valley for more than 25 years, and today it serves clients throughout Lake, Mineral and Sanders Counties, portions of the Flathead Indian Reservation and agricultural clients all across the state.

“As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are updating our name to more effectively communicate who we are and what we do,” Mission West Executive Director Jim Thaden said. “Our new name reflects our location in the Mission Valley and it also clearly describes our role as development partners with the communities and businesses we serve throughout Lake, Mineral and Sanders counties.”

Mission West, formally Lake County Community Development, also manages a loan portfolio of more than $4 million, provides free training and business consulting, community development services to local governments and nonprofit organizations, and cooperative development programs and workshops. It also houses a multi-use, value-added food production facility in downtown Ronan.
