Ronan speech and debate sixth in Miles City event
The Ronan High School speech and debate team competed in the Miles City Virtual Tournament on Saturday.
Sariel Sandoval took first place in Original Oratory, and Dylan Schock took second place in Lincoln Douglas Debate after making the final round for the first time in his debate career. Jaslyn Frost earned fourth place in Humorous Interpretation of Literature while Isaac Cantlon had an eighth place finish in Impromptu Speakers.
Maggie Wurster, Vicente Ortega, and Aaliyah Decker all qualified for semifinals in their event categories.
Overall, the team finished in a sixth-place tie with Fergus High School in Class A competition. The team's next competition is the Corvallis Virtual Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
The divisional tournament, hosted by Polson, is being held virtually Jan. 23.
