Ronan man dies in traffic crash on U.S. 93
A Ronan man died Thursday evening in a head-on traffic crash on U.S. 93.
According to Lake County Sheriff Don Bell, 70-year-old Jack Howlett was driving on U.S. 93 when the collision occurred with a tractor trailer at about 6:30 p.m. near Innovation Drive.
When emergency crews arrived, they determined Howlett had died. He was the only person in the passenger vehicle.
Bell said the crash remains under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol and Motor Carrier Services.
Howlett was taken to the Montana State Forensic Lab for autopsy and the death is under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office.
