The Montana 200, a 200-lap super late model stock car race established in 1991 in Kalispell, will run this weekend for the first time at the Mission Valley Super Oval in Polson.

The race was held at Kalispell’s Raceway Park until 2020, when the track closed for good. This year’s total purse is $50,000, and the winner will walk away with $10,000. At least 20 cars had been registered heading into race weekend.

Drivers will have an open practice starting at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 15. Gates open at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with time trials at 6 p.m. and racing beginning at 7.

Friday night will include Montana 200 qualifying, positioning heats and a trophy dash, as well as hobby stock racing. On Saturday night, there will be Legends and LCQ races prior to the 200-lap main event, which will include two 100-lap sessions with a short break in between for pit adjustments.

Tickets cost $15 for Friday night and $25 for Saturday. Two-day passes for $40 also are available. Visit the racetrack website at missionvalleysuperoval.com to pre-purchase tickets.
