The streets of Polson and Charlo will be dipped in red, white and blue once again this summer during the nation’s Independence Day.

The Polson Chamber of Commerce announced last week that this year’s fireworks display, previously announced, will be preceded by a Fourth of July parade that will start at noon at Linderman School.

Registration of entrants is available at the Chamber’s website, www.polsonchamber.com, and is due by July 3.

This year’s theme is “1909 to 2021 – Celebrating 112 years of Growth.”

Entrants will line up in front of Linderman starting at 11 a.m. The procession will head down Second Street East to Third Avenue East, then will come down Third Avenue East to Main Street, and up Main all the way to St. Joseph Medical Center.

Meanwhile, the Chamber continues to raise funds for the fireworks show, which will begin at dusk. Donations may be made online at the Chamber’s website.

Charlo’s parade will begin at 12:30 p.m.

The American Legion Post 126 will be set up at 9 a.m., selling raffle tickets for guns, fishing poles and other prizes with winners to be announced following the parade.

There will be children's games in the park along with cold drinks and food available from the Branding Iron Bar and Grill, Paul and Lovies Street Tacos and More or Super Gyros Food Truck starting at 10 a.m. as well as goodies to go from Charlo Grocery and Coulter Automotive.

There will be a car show with prizes at Coulters after the parade, along with horse drawn wagon rides from Live Oak Belgians sponsored by Ninepipes Lodge.

Entrants should line up at the softball fields on and along Morris Road. The parade route will go through town on Highway 212 out to the fire hall and then back through town.
