Volunteer fire departments at St. Ignatius and Finley Point are holding their annual community fundraising events Saturday.

The Finley Point/Yellow Bay Rural Fire Department will have an open house at the fire hall from 11 a.m to 1 p.m., followed by live music at the Finley Point Grill lower parking lot from 1 to 8 p.m. across the street from the fire station.

The Valley Cats will play from 1 to 3 p.m., and Pink Cadillac will play from about 4 to 8 p.m. In between bands the firefighters will do a live “Jaws of Life” demonstration.

“We’ll have two or three food providers, and the bar will be open downstairs,” Chief Brent Burland said. While this is an annual event, this year will be the “first annual live music one,” he said.

A fire boot will be out to collect donations, and part of the food proceeds will also go to the fire department.

The St. Ignatius Rural Fire Department Auxiliary is holding its annual pig roast and auction Saturday as well. Concessions, the roasted pork lunch and the silent auction begin at 11 a.m., with the live auction beginning at noon.

Supporters will be selling raffle tickets for a whole hog, cut and wrapped, and two firearms.

To donate auction items or for more information, call (406) 543-2288 or 531-0375.
