Parades ready to roll through Charlo, Polson
Charlo’s community Fourth of July celebration returns this year, including family fun and food in the park and the downtown mid-day parade.
The American Legion Post 126 raffle includes prizes of guns, fishing poles and other items. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m.; winners will be drawn just after the parade.
Food booths, food trucks and children’s games start at 10 a.m., and a horse-drawn wagon will again offer rides down Main Street.
The parade begins at 12:30 p.m., followed by a car show with prizes at Coulter Automotive.
Parade entries will line up at the softball fields along Morris Road north of town, travel south through town on Main Street, and double back north along the same route.
Polson’s Independence Day celebrations are also returning with a parade and fireworks. The parade lineup begins at 11 a.m. at Linderman Elementary School. The theme for floats is “1909 to 2021 – Celebrating 112 Years of Growth.”
The parade begins at noon and will follow an expanded route this year, following Second Street East to Third Avenue East, then down Third Avenue East to Main Street, and up Main all the way to St. Joseph Medical Center.
Parade participants are asked to fill out a pre-registration form from the Polson Chamber of Commerce website, polsonchamber.com, and drop it by the Chamber office at 402 First St. East, Suite 102 by Friday afternoon.
Enjoy the afternoon by the waterfront with Classic Country Jammin’ at the Lake Bar 1 to 4 p.m.
Fireworks will begin at dusk over the Flathead River.
