Polson School District hires new superintendent
After interviewing five candidates, the Polson School Board selected Michael Cutler of Phillipsburg as the new Superintendent of Schools. Board members approved the hire during their February meeting. Cutler will take over the role to start the 2021-22 school year.
Cutler served 17 years as superintendent in Phillipsburg and coached the combined Drummond/Phillipsburg Flint Creek Titans to three state championships in 8-man football.
Superintendent Rex Weltz resigned last summer to accept an administrative position in Helena. Tom DiGiallonardo has served as interim superintendent since last July, but did not apply for the superintendent position.
Other candidates included: Tom Stack, superintendent of the Clinton Elementary School District and former Ronan High School principal; Lance Pearson, superintendent of the Victor School District; Scott Kinney, superintendent of schools in Superior and former assistant high school principal in Ronan; and Dr. Erika Allen, superintendent and principal in the Dutton-Brady School District.
