NOTICE FOR FIRST PUBLIC HEARING The Lake County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on March 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Commissioner's Meeting Room at 106 4th Avenue East, Polson, MT 59860, in conjunction with Lake County Community Development Corporation (DBA) Mission West Community Development Partners for the purpose of obtaining public comments regarding the needs and priorities of Lake County for public facilities, infrastructure, affordable housing, economic development and community revitalization, and particularly as those needs affect low and moderate income persons. For communities, sewer and/or water districts and organizations who may be considering applying for funding from the state of Montana under any of these categories, attending this hearing will be considered as the first public hearing as may be required as a condition of your application. The Lake County Commissioners may utilize the feedback received at this hearing to prioritize projects that may need their support and consideration. Various funding programs available for public facilities, infrastructure, affordable housing and economic development will be discussed, including, but not limited to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Programs through the MT Department of Commerce. Notice of Close of Regular Voter Registration and Option for Late Registration Notice is hereby given that regular* registration for all School Elections to be held on Tuesday, May 4th 2021 will close at 5:00 p.m., on Monday, April 5, 2021. *NOTE: If you miss this regular registration deadline, you may still register for the election by showing up at the county election office up to and including on Election Day. NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING LAKE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH & LAKE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS The Lake County Board of Health & Board of Commissioners hereby gives notice that the Lake County Commissioners will review the Emergency Declaration Resolution 20-4, which was originally adopted on March 17, 2020 declaring a State of Emergency in Lake County due to COVID-19. The Resolution remains in effect and public comment will be accepted to assist the Board of Commissioners to determine if the State of Emergency should remain in effect. Following a vote by the Commissioners on the resolution, the Lake County Board of Health will vote to decide if the mask mandate/directive shall remain in effect. ASCHERL FLOODPLAIN DEVELOPMENT PERMIT APPLICATION Rob Smith with A2Z Engineering, on behalf of George Ascherl, has applied for a floodplain development permit to raise the elevation of the existing driveway, install riprap along 500 linear feet of Swan Lake shoreline, and fill low areas within the floodplain which have been eroding due to storm activity, creating vegetation washout and unstable areas on the property. The proposal also includes filling around an existing electrical transformer and installing upgrades to bring it into compliance with floodplain standards. The total amount of fill for this proposed project is 2,960 cubic yards. The subject property is legally described as tract 2 on COS 5938, located within section 31, T26N, R18W.
