Man arrested after lengthy high-speed chase
A 36-year-old man is in custody at the Lake County Detention Center following a two-county high-speed chase that covered at least 50 miles over the weekend.
Authorities arrested Joseph Brown near Lakeside early Sunday morning, according to Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino. Brown faces charges including criminal endangerment, possession of dangerous drugs with intent to sell, fleeing from police, driving on a suspended or revoked license, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The chase began late Saturday night in the Ronan/Pablo area. Authorities said Brown drove north on U.S. 93. Flathead County deputies used spike strips near Angel Point Road and U.S. 93 just south of Lakeside, which forced Brown to slow his speed.
Deputies then used a pursuit intervention technique to stop the vehicle just south of Lakeside.
The Polson Police Department and Lake County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
