Charlo considering four-day school week
The Charlo School District is considering implementing a four-day schedule for its 2021-22 school year.
During the March 16 school board meeting, trustees voted to support the switch, though no action on the matter has been finalized.
Trustees will hear public comment on the issue at a future board meeting, according to an announcement from the district, which states that a recent survey showed 75% of parents and a majority of staff support the move.
In a four-day format, the school hours are extended for four days, with no instruction on the fifth day of the week. Teachers also work a four-day week.
The district is preparing a proposed calendar with a length of school day, estimated bus route times, and holidays penciled in for parents to review.
Those with questions about the proposal are encouraged to call the district at 406-644-2206.
