Mariners sweep Riverdogs
The Mission Valley Mariners won both games of a doubleheader against the visiting Clark Fork Valley Riverdogs last weekend.
Mission Valley hurler Alex Muzquiz held the Riverdogs to four hits in the first game, a 10-0 Mariners win. The Riverdogs advanced runners into scoring position in the third and fourth innings, but were denied.
Xavier Fisher reached base four times on a hit, a pair of bean balls and a walk. Noah Shriver and Espn Fisher both hit two-run singles.
The second game of the doubleheader found the Mariners trailing after three after Clark Fork plated four for a 4-2 lead. In the bottom of the seventh, the Mariner rally had to resort to last second heroics as they were down to their last out despite loading the bases. Fisher supplied the walk-off win with a three-run double.
