POLSON — Polson’s girls dropped just one set and one match while beating Columbia Falls 6-1, while the Pirate boys had a tougher time in Northwest A tennis action Thursday.
Polson beat Columbia Falls’ boys 4-3, with the doubles team of Trent Wilson and Owen McElwee scoring a three-set win in No. 1 doubles to secure the win.
Columbia Falls won the other two doubles matches, and got singles wins from Malachi Brower at boys’ No. 4 singles, and from Hannah Schweikert in No. 1 girls’.

Ronan tops Polson
POLSON — Ronan swept Polson in boys and girls tennis matches in Polson on April 27.
Torrin Ellis was Polson’s only boys singles winner, defeating Dillon PrettyOnTop in three sets. The pair of Casey Trosper and Carson Hurska beat Reni Stalheim and Kaden Muhammad of Ronan in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
Polson’s Berkley Ellis won in straight sets over Skyler Shima, 6-0, 6-2, and two doubles teams —Sarah Kinzie/Megan Rost and Grace Simonich/Jelaysia Forman Webster — won by forfeit.
