The Mission Valley Mariners’ A squad (7-3) traveled to Kalispell on Sunday to face the AA Lakers for the third time this season and came away with a 4-3 extra-innings victory.

The Mariners scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th when Daniel Kelsch scored on an RBI grounder by Alex Muzquiz. Kelsch reached base on a single, advanced to second on a single by James Bennett and tagged up on a fly out by Xavier Fisher to reach third before Muzquiz came to the plate.

The Lakers (9-2) had the tying run on base with two out in the bottom of the 10th, but closer Dylan Davis induced a groundout to end the inning for the victory.

Muzquiz had the Mariners’ only extra-base hit in the game, a triple.

Friday at Libby, the Mariners routed the Loggers 26-2 in a nonconference game. Muzquiz had five hits, including a pair of home runs, and drove in nine runs.

Mission Valley smashed 21 hits.

Muzquiz's first homer was a three-run shot in the top of the third, when the Mariners sent their entire lineup to the plate. He followed with a second homer in the seventh.

Xavier Fisher drove in four runs in the leadoff spot, while brother Espn Fisher drove in three runs.

Eric Dolence struck out six and allowed two hits over three innings to earn the win.
