Ronan won three of four games over two days last weekend at the Butte Invitational. The Maidens (7-11) lost a close opener, 3-1, to Butte Central on Saturday, but bounced back with a 15-0 win over Browning that evening.

Against Butte Central, Ronan scored first in the top half of the third inning on a Kiara Sherman RBI single to center following a Macao Jackson double to left. But the Maroons countered in the bottom half of the fourth when Kump drew a two-out walk, then plated on a RBI single from Keeley that knotted the contest at one apiece.

The Lady Maroons overtook the lead 3-1 on a one out bases loaded two RBI single from Maddie Stimatz.

The Maidens threatened to counter in the top half of the seventh. With two outs, Ashlie Welker laced a ground-rule double that hopped the left-center field fence. Jackson was walked intentionally, putting the potential tying run on base. But Butte Central was able to repel the threat by securing the third out.

On Saturday, they crossed another hurdle by beating Stevensville. After getting stung twice by narrow margins during their preceding contests against Stevensville earlier in the season, 7-9, 9-10, the Maidens turned the third time to their benefit. The lead see-sawed back and forth the first half of the game before Ronan erupted for a half dozen runs down the stretch during the latter innings, then held off Stevensville for the 11-6 win.

Ronan closed out the tournament with a 22-6 win over Hamilton.
