Lady Vikings go 2-2 at Manhattan

The Charlo volleyball team’s 13-game win streak came to an end Thursday at the Class C divisional tournament hosted by Manhattan Christian, and a few matches later, so did their season.

The Lady Vikings (16-3) entered the tournament with just one loss, a three-set defeat at Class B Thompson Falls.

Charlo opened with a sweep of Ennis. Kassidi Cox had 10 kills, and Hayleigh Smith and MollyKate Sullivan added seven each. Later Thursday, eventual tournament runner-up White Sulphur Springs handed Charlo its first Class C loss of the year, a 25-11, 25-9, 26-24 sweep.

Charlo battled to a 24-26, 25-20, 25-13, 25-19 over Drummond on Friday to earn a rematch with Ennis in a fourth-place match. The second go around didn’t end as well, however, as Ennis won in four sets after dropping the first set.

With the loss, Charlo finished fourth at the divisional tournament. The top two seeds, White Sulphur Springs and champion Manhattan Christian advanced to the state tournament at Bozeman.
