Area runners tune up at trio of meets

This past week, area cross country runners competed among three different meets: the Whitefish Invitational, the Arlee Fish Hatchery Challenge and the Mission Shadow Duels.

Among area harrier girls, Polson's Ashtyn Wagner clocked a pair of sub-21s, while fellow teammate Halle Heninger as well as Ronan's Olivia Heiner both turned in a pair of sub-22s. Mission's Cedar Hunt turned in the best time among area runners at the Fish Hatchery Challenge with a third place finish.

Among area boy runners, the trio of Robbie Nuila, Zoran LaFrombois and Thomas Nuila paced their Mission team with top fifteen finishes in two different races. For Polson, both Ryan Dupuis and Drifter Skillicorn each turned in a pair of sub-18s to continue pacing the Pirates. From Ronan, Keyan Pretty On Top turned in the top time among Chief runners with a sub-20 at the Whitefish Invitational this past week, while Elijah Tonasket is a mere handful of seconds away from breaking that barrier.
