Football Roundup: Vikings roll at Plains

PLAINS — Keaton Piedalue scored three first-quarter rushing touchdowns, and Braydon Zempel scored on a run and a 54-yard kickoff return as the Vikings (4-2) won 74-0 at Plains (0-3) on Saturday.

Piedalue finished with 105 rushing yards. Quarterbacks Coyle Nagy and Hayden Hollow combined to complete 2 of 5 passes with a touchdown each.

Charlo rushed for 276 yards and allowed just 2 yards on defense for the game.

The Vikings travel to Drummond-Philipsburg (5-0) on Friday.

Bulldogs handle Seeley

SEELEY — Kellen McClure completed 11 of 16 passes for 208 yards and five TDs, and Isaac Umphrey tossed a 17-yard TD pass as Mission (3-2) dominated the Blackhawks (3-2) in a key conference matchup Friday.

Mission led 36-14 at half and shut out Seeley-Swan in the second half on their way to a 68-14 win.

Canyon Sargent caught four passes for 46 yards and three TDs, and rushed for two more TDs to finish with five on the night.

Jose O’Brien led the Bulldogs with 64 rushing yards on seven carries. Kenny Ness had three receptions for 83 yards and two TDS, while Bryce Umphrey had three catches for 58 yards and a score.

Mission hosts Darby on Friday, then travels to Arlee before wrapping up the regular season at Plains.

Chiefs struggle at Whitefish

WHITEFISH — Rynn Ridgeway ran for one touchdown, threw for another and returned an interception 33 yards for a third as Whitefish beat Ronan 48-12 Friday in its homecoming game.

Ridgeway was 6-for-6 passing for 138 yards, including a 62-yard scoring pass to Bofdie Smnith.

Ronan (0-5, 0-5) got touchdowns from Colter Cornwall and Tristan Fisher.

The Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0 in the Northwest A) also had a 10-yard scoring pass from Mason Kelch to Ryder Barinowski. Ty Schwaiger had two scoring runs and Cody Berry tore off a 30-yard touchdown burst. Deck Wold had three carries for 66 yards.

Warriors split rare two-game week

ARLEE — Due to a series of cancellations, Arlee hosted Victor on Wednesday, Sept. 29, and lost 52-28 to the Pirates (1-3). The game originally was scheduled for Sept. 11. Victor led 30-14 at half.

Jace Arca scored two rushing touchdowns and caught a TD pass from Kendall O’Neill. He also scored a safety for Arlee on defense. O’Neill threw a second TD pass to Jake Knoll.

Three days later, the Warriors (1-4) earned their first win of the season with a 56-34 home victory against Troy (0-6).

Arlee led 16-8 at half and 32-16 after three quarters. The teams combined for 42 points in the fourth quarter.
