A quartet of Lake County cross country runners finished in the top 15 of their respective classes to capture all-state honors Saturday at the all-class state meets in Missoula.

Mission junior Zoran LaFrombois finished ninth among Class B boys with a time of 17:34.52 on the 5K course at the UM Golf Course. LaFrombois also was named all-state in basketball last spring as a sophomore.

Three local girls finished in the top 15 of the Class A field.

Polson’s Ashtyn Wagner, a junior, and senior Halle Heninger both ran sub-21s to claim all-state honors. It’s the second all-state finish for Heninger, who ran a season-best time Saturday. Wagner improved her season finale time by almost a minute over last year.

Ronan junior Olivia Heiner closed out the top 15 for all-state honors, staving off two competitors who were nipping at her heels by just seconds for the final slot.

Thomas and Robbie Nuila both ran well for Mission. Thomas finished 19th and Robbie was 27th.

The Polson boys were led by Drifter Skillicorn, who posted a personal best mid-17 to finish mere seconds from all-state honors in 16th place. He moved up through the pack from as far back as 32nd at the mile juncture. Teammates Noah Roberts and Ryan Dupuis both turned in sub-18s, with Roberts churning a personal best effort. Fellow Pirates Kai McDonald and Brandt Heninger both turned in sub-20s in their final race of the season.

Ronan’s Lochlyn Finley turned in a sub-20 among the Chiefs, while fellow teammates Keyan Pretty On Top and Elijah Tonasket were mere seconds from cracking the sub-20 barrier in their season finale.

Kooper Page along with Cedar Hunt of Mission, and Arlee’s Saisha NorthPiegan all turned in sub-25s to pace their respective teams in the Class B race.

In the Class C races, Charlo’s Guinevere Contreras closed out her prep cross country career by shaving over 5 minutes off her time from last season to finish among the top 30. Malayce Finley of Two Eagle River turned in a sub-22 to pace his fellow Eagle runners, while Charlo’s Hayden Smith and Branson Zempel both turned in sub-23s to spearhead the Vikings.
