Ronan woman killed, boy injured in Lake County crash
A Ronan woman died Tuesday, Oct. 26 after crashing her Mazda CX-7 in Lake County. A 4-year-old boy was in the vehicle and was sent to Logan Heath Medical Center.
Emily Pinkston, 37, was driving north on Timberlane Road at about 3 p.m. when the vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree head-on for unknown reasons. She was declared dead at the scene.
Pinkston was wearing a seat belt, and the boy was buckled up with a booster seat.
A Montana Highway Patrol report says speed is a suspected factor in the crash. Road conditions were dry.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office said this week that Pinkston's body has been examined by the state medical examiner, though no specific cause of death has been announced.
MHP continues to investigate the crash.
