Polson golfers seize Ronan Invitational titles

RONAN — Polson golfers swept the team titles at the Ronan invitational held Thursday at the Mission Mountain Golf Club.

The Pirates’ Christian Lund (72), Hunter Emerson (73) and Torren Ellis (74) finished 1-2-3 en route to an 18-stroke victory over second-place Hamilton in the boys team standings. Hamilton’s Cole Dickemore tied Ellis for third in the individual standings.

Nash Niemeyer (84) was Ronan’s top boys finisher. The Chiefs finished fourth in the team standings, nine strokes behind third-place Whitefish.

Macee Greenwood of Corvallis scorched the course with a 69 to lead all girls.

The Lady Pirates edged Hamilton by two strokes for the team title, with Ashley Maki (85) leading the way with a fourth-place individual finish.

Alyssa Pretty On Top of Ronan finished fifth with an 89.
