Football Roundup: Wilson tops 500 yards again in Pirates’ road win
STEVENSVILLE — Polson quarterback Jarrett Wilson had another huge Friday, throwing for 565 yards and seven touchdowns in Polson’s 52-12 win at Western A foe Stevensville.
Wilson completed 42 of 56 passes, with no interceptions, and threw two scoring strikes each to Alex Muzquiz and Colton Graham.
The junior continues to set standards for Class A football: He broke his own record for completions in a game, and with his 33 rushing yards has the most yards in total offense at that level, with 598.
Wilson also became the second class A quarterback with two 500-yard passing games; class A archivist Brian Reed said Billings Central’s Chris Klein did it twice in 1995. Wilson threw for 519 against Butte Central last fall.
It also marked the second time a class A team had three 100-yard receivers. Graham, whose TDs covered 25 and 5 yards, caught 11 passes for 193 yards. Robert Perez had nine catches for 115 yards and a touchdown, and Xavier Fisher had eight receptions for 145 and a score.
Muzquiz had touchdown catches of 2 and 10 yards and had seven receptions for 60 yards.
Wilson has nine TD passes on the season, if you count the four he threw in a 49-21 win over the Glacier JV in week one. Graham had three of the touchdowns in that game.
The Pirates (2-0) are ranked No. 5 in the 406mtsports class A poll. They’ll take on East Helena at home Friday.
