Golf Roundup: Pirates sweep team titles at Hamilton
Both Pirate golf teams won the team titles at the Hamilton course, which will be the venue for the Western A Divisional this weekend. After just missing the top 15 in the Kalispell two-day tournament against extensive AA competition, Polson’s Hunter Emerson claimed medalist honors by two strokes over Marcus Kilman of Whitefish. Three other Pirates finished among the top 15.
Three of the four Lady Pirate golfers, along with a trio from the Ronan team finished, among the top 15.
At the Kalispell Invitational mid-week, a three-way tie at the top among the boys was broken when Sentinel’s Joe Opitz carded an eagle in the playoff from 60 yards out to win medalist honors. Glacier edged out Whitefish for the team title in the playoff. Polson's Carson Hupka, Ashley Maki and Clare Konen all made the top 15. Emerson finished a mere stroke back from joining the leaders.
