Mission Valley Choral Society concerts this weekend in St. Ignatius, Polson
“The Awakening” of many lifting their voices in joyous song, after a couple of quiet years, is happening this weekend. Palm Sunday weekend concerts begin with the Mission Valley Choral Society performing at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the acoustic-perfect St. Ignatius Mission, and at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Polson. Complete the weekend experience with a meal served immediately following the Sunday concert in the church basement.
The musical program includes songs from around the world. Come listen and join in to sing with the mass choir on Sunday. The mass choir will practice its two numbers at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Catholic Church. Christian Bumgarner will direct the choir, accompanied by Karla Gallatin.
Those wishing to sing with the mass choir should RSVP by Friday, April 8, so enough music can be provided. To RSVP, text your name to Susan Fortner at 406-370-2076 or Valerie Lindstrom at 406-261-3304. YouTube links are available for at-home practice.
A free-will donation taken at the Saturday concert will benefit the Mission Valley Choral Society and at the Sunday concert and meal will benefit Helping Hands. MVCS donations help cover music expenses, and donations for Helping Hands, which has worked in the county for more than 18 years, help at-risk residents.
