Fae Bingham Laud peacefully passed away in her sleep sometime in the morning of July 26, 2022.

Fae was born in Choteau, Montana on Sept. 19, 1930. She was adopted and left the hospital with Edwin and Mary Bingham. Later in life Fae would get to know her blood mother, Thelma, and siblings.

The Binghams moved to Charlo where Edwin’s “little brown eyed girl” grew up. Fae attended school in Charlo, was active in 4-H showing her dairy cattle and graduated in 1950.

She found herself a handsome forest ranger, Ordie Tadlock, married him and had a daughter, Janine. Ordie passed away in 1961.

Later Fae met John Laud while shopping at the Wamsley Store. They married and had John, Mary and Tom.

Fae and John were well known for their community work through the Charlo Recreation Club.

Many people referred to her as Momma Fae or Momma Laud. She was a known “Poppy Pusher” for the George “Bud” Pelly Auxiliary Unit #126. This included Poppy Posters at school Poppy sales in the community and spreading Poppies through cemeteries on veterans graves.

Fae was part of the original D’ Aste Women’s Club who pushed forward the D’ Aste Church Community building repairs. Her baked goods were staples on fund raising bake sale tables for decades.

Fae was proceeded in death by parents, Mary and Edwin Bingham, Thelma Hofland, siblings, Ralph, Glenn, Roger, Paul, Edna, Alberta and Margie, husbands Ordie and John and her much loved grandson, Alan Westerman.

Fae is survived by her siblings, Edith Jacobson, Lucille Knapstad and Erik Hofland, children, Janine, John, Mary (James), Tom (Darcie) along with grandchildren, Traci (Wade), Jerry (Brittany), Amanda, Benjamin (Katy), Andrew (Judy), Adam (Devin), Chelsea (Josh), McCall (Cullen), MacKenzie (Dion), 18 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, she would love for people to donate to the D’ Aste Church Remodel at P. O. Box 129 Charlo, Mt 59824.

Many also knew Fae from the LDS Church which she grew up within. She loved going visiting teaching even when all she could do was a phone call.

With this said, she requested her funeral be at the LDS Church, located in Ronan. Service will be Saturday, Aug. 6 at 11 a.m. with luncheon following.
