Beavers thump Pirates in season opener

The Polson Pirates opened their season against the Dillon Beavers at the Western A Tip-Off Tournament in Frenchtown on Friday.
Treyton Graham led four players in double figures as the Beavers jumped out to a 25-9 first-quarter lead. Graham netted 17 points, Carter Curnow 13, Tyler Lagunas 11 and Caden Hansen 10.
Jarrett Wilson had a big night for Polson with 25 points.
The game was a rematch of a contest Polson won 53-52 in overtime at the State A Tournament, before clinching third last March.

Jarrett Wilson's 21 points and Espen Fisher's 19 helped make the difference for Polson at the Western A Shootout on Saturday. Trent Wilson added 14.
Polson outscored Corvallis 24-15 during the fourth quarter. Leif Jessup had 12 points for Corvallis and Aaron Powell added 10.
