Pinfest: Pirate wrestlers best and tie Browning
Pinfest is perhaps the best description of Polson's Dec. 8 wrestling dual with the Browning Indians.
The host Pirates downed Browning, 42-30 in a dual that consisted of either pins or forfeits. No match made it past the second period.
Polson picked up five pins on the night by Daniel Peterson (145), Jack Sherry (160), Jaren Keene (170), Kyrin Doty (182)and Alex Clairmont (132).Clairmont spent the least amount of time on the mat. He pinned Browning's Yazmin Tatsey McKay in 43 seconds.
The Pirates benefited from forfeits at 103 and 113 while forfeitting the 205-pound weight class.
It was short and sweet on the girls side as well, as the teams battled to a 30-30 tie.
Every match was also either a pin or a forfeit.
The Pirates picked up pins from Venessa Wheeler, Pepper Featherston, Ciri Nice, Ariella Mihara, and Cely DeBruin. Of those, Ariella Mihara was the quickest to get off the mat, pinning her Browning opponent in 40 seconds. The longest match of the night was DeBruin's win over Browning's Madison Burns. That lasted 4:44.
Polson lost two matches by forfeit -- at 114 and 145 pounds.
