Wilson, Umphrey and Sargent named to Shrine Game Roster
Polson quarterback Jarrett Wilson was selected to play in the 76th East-West Shrine Game. It came like a Christmas present as the rosters for both the east and western squads were released on Dec. 25.
Wilson’s quarterback skills speak for themselves, as the Polson senior threw for over 2,600 yards and 35 touchdowns, while running for another 886 yards and 17 touchdowns. Naturally he will be playing for the West team.
His career stats are equally eye-popping as he threw 48 touchdown passes in 2021-22. He has 115 career touchdown passes to his name, 8,812 passing yards and 1,859 rushing yards to go along with 27 touchdowns on the ground.
Polson went 9-2 overall and 6-0 in the Northwest A Conference last year. The Pirates advanced all the way to the State A semifinals.
Trent Wilson of Polson was named as an alternate in the Shrine Game as a safety, posting 35 tackles in 2022-23 and five tackles for a loss to go along with a sack and five interceptions.
Class B Florence’s Patrick Duchien is the other quarterback on the roster for the West team.
Also on the team is Mission wide receiver Bryce Umphrey and Mission outside lineback Canyon Sargent.
Mission went 13-1 last season with an 8-0 Western C mark and the offense notched 763 points en route to the state championship game behind the excellent play of Umphrey and Sargent. The 76th Montana East-West Shrine Game will be held June 17 in Butte.
