Gun ownership banquet, debate coming to Missoula
The Montana Shooting Sports Association will host a banquet and discussion about the future of gun ownership in Montana on May 14 in Missoula.
The dinner will take place at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Missoula. Confirmed speakers for the event are Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen and Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter. U.S. Senator Jon Tester is slated to speak as well if his schedule permits.
Prior to the dinner, starting at 4 p.m., there will be a debate between candidates for the new Montana U.S. House District 2 seat. The debate will be moderated by radio personality Aaron Flint.
Tickets for the dinner event are $75 per person and can be purchased at www.myevent.com/FGOMT. To purchase a table of 10 seats or to become a sponsor for the event, contact randy@wmfga.org.
There will be a no-host reception from 5 to 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn.
Time for buffalo burgers
The annual Polson Kiwanis Buffalo Burgerfest runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8 at the Polson Elks Lodge, 512 Main St.
Enjoy a buffalo burger, beans, salad and fresh pie for $10 per person.
Proceeds benefit Polson Kiwanis Club service projects, primarily youth-based projects.
Pachyderms meet Friday
The Lake County Pachyderm Club will hold its first meeting of the new year at noon Friday, Feb. 11 at the Polson Rural Fire station, 25 Regatta Road. Guest speaker Jim Gomolka will discuss voter fraud in Montana.
ARC banquet set for Saturday
Tickets are on sale for the Inaugural Gala and Banquet to benefit the nonprofit Arlee Rehabilitation Center’s (ARC) work to bring healing to youth and animals on the Flathead Reservation. The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 3720 N. Reserve in Missoula.
Join Mayor Engen, members of the Salish community, furry friends and supporters for an evening of dining, music, live and silent auctions, service, and more. Auction items include Glacier getaways; skiing, hot springs, and horseback adventures; art; gift certificates; and much more.
Royce MacIntosh, baritone vocals, and Aneta Panusz, piano, will perform music.
All proceeds benefit the Flathead Reservation community through Pawsitively Healing Camps for trauma-impacted youth, spay/neuter clinics, animal-assisted therapy, social and emotional learning programs, and Reservation dog rescue/adoptions.
